Accredited Family Law Specialist Shayne Neumann is experienced in organising
support issues in relation to children.
If you and your partner separated after 1st October, 1989 or if you
separated before then but your child was born after that date, you can
apply to the Child Support Agency for an Administrative Assessment of
Child Support.
This means that they will work out the rate of payment of child support
in your situation.
If you or your former partner are unhappy with the assessment, an application
can be made for a review to the Child Support Review Officer.
If you still do not agree with their recommendation, you can make an
Application to the Family Court. Where your case does not come within
the guidelines of the Child Support Assessment Act, the Family Court
can deal with your case after you make an application to them.
